13th of November, 2025 – Llandudno Beach Hosts the Western Province Champs
From Under 8s to Grand Veterans — two unforgettable days of world-class surfing.
Llandudno delivered some of the best waves we’ve seen in years, with huge, powerful, barreling sets firing through the rocks at the GAT. It was Mother Nature at her absolute finest — the perfect stage for the Cape Town Surf RidersWestern Province Championships.
We handed out major awards, witnessed flawless 10-point rides, and celebrated our Triple Crown Series champions in style. Dozens of surfers were honoured for their achievements in the South African Surfing Association series, alongside athletes selected by Surfing South Africa to represent the country in Peru. We also recognised our rising groms preparing for the WSL World Junior Championships in the Philippines later this year.
What an incredible event celebrating the depth and talent of our provincial surfers. A massive thank you to Liam Wood for organising such a phenomenal championship — we can’t wait to see him lead the team to Peru and on to the Philippines.
